Monitoring your treatment

You will need to see your doctor regularly to make sure you are getting the right treatment and dose of testosterone. You may have another blood test soon after starting Testogel® to ensure you are on the correct dose, or your doctor may observe your symptom response to treatment before doing another blood test.1,2

Your doctor may require some blood tests throughout the course of your treatment. These tests will check your testosterone levels and other blood components, which may indicate if you are experiencing some side effects.1,2

It’s important that you speak to your doctor about how you are feeling

Blood tests cannot monitor all aspects of your treatment though, for example your mood or libido/sex drive. Discussing how you feel with your doctor can help them make the right treatment decisions with you.

Our tips for talking to your doctor provide great advice about starting any difficult conversations with your healthcare provider.

You can also review your own symptoms and see if they are changing over time, with the Ageing Males’ Symptoms (AMS) questionnaire.
